Hi,
tha latest flower on my Phal exhibits colour break, also some flowers were deformed on the previous flowering.
The newest leaf is also curling downwards and the flower spike is scarred almost along its entire length.
Otherwise, the plant is growing very well but I fear that with all of the above symptomes the chances of a virus are high. What do you think?
The plant is an inexpensive one so there's not much point in spending money for virus testing but I don't want to be hasty in throwing it out since I'm quite fond of it.
i`m not really sure as i`ve never had to deal with it the symptoms u listed are indicators though. :S I hope I am wrong because it otherwise looks to be established well. Perhaps Phillip or another vastly knowledgeable person will come along and tell you with more certainty then i can.
There is a chance it is virused....more likely not. The color break can be due to many different issues including improper fertilizer, chemical, temperature, genetics, etc. So, if you're worried... dump the plant. Otherwise it looks nice and healthy. I grow about 1200 phals.

Thanks for the advice. Since the plant is such a good grower I really didn't want to throw it away, plus it was a gift. So I've isolated it and am taking care not to spread the virus when handling it, watering etc. It's good to know that it might not be a virus...
