Phal! black hole on plant

I had noticed this black spot on 1 of my Phals just shortly after I got it back in Feb, I thought it was just some surface inperfection, it appeared not to be causing any probleams, so I paid no mind to it, not long ago I noticed it was turning yellow, again I paid no mind as I know they occasionally do that, will then yesterday I noticed it was a top crown leaf and not an older lower leaf, so I checked it out and this is what I seen, the black spot on the surface was now a big hole.


I don't think its rot, the area thats black is hard and crusty like, and not soft and mushy as I have heard on rot and when and if water got on the crown area, I always wiped it dry with paper towel.
