Default White spots on Cymbidium foliage

Has anybody seen this problem?
A few of my Cymbidiums have some white dots on the leaves.
I really do not know whether it is due to some nutrient deficiency, insect attack, or another cause.

Her's a picture:

Any insight on this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Rodrigo

Default Your "white spots" post

Did you ever figure out what the white spots were and how to treat them? My Cymbidium has the very same thing and I'm wondering how to correct the problem.

Thanks for any insight!

It could be many things. I don't think it's a virus or fungus and as the damage is int he center of the play I don't think it's low temperature of to much radiatian.

My best gues would thrips (insect) damage where they suck the cells die and you can get white or silvery spots due to the air that's replaced the cells.

Rob:

I think you are right.
I looked at the area with a magnifying glass, and it sure looks like some insects were biting on the tissue.
