Phal Crissis!!!! please help me
Default Phal Crissis!!!! please help me

im so worried please help

it started with 2 of my phals. now it seems to have spread but i dont know from what it came or what it is. the leaves havnt just fallen off. the get tiny black spots randon parts of the leaves and then the tissue around the spot blotch and look like nickle size dark spots of rot.

the from the base of the leaf it turns black and rots off. and it starts from the lowest leaf and so far work its way up.

please help. i dont know where to get antifungal or anti bacteial stuff like pyhson 20 or whatever its called. i fear i will have to dispose of my phals that have shown symptoms of this.

I noticed that some of your pics have the Phals in bright light. I don't suggest doing that in the future. That can cause pretty bad sunburn. They grow in the shade.

How are you growing your Phals?

The following is a link to someone's Flickr page. It shows you what kind of habitat Phals grow in.

It's a swamp forest in Malaysia.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarawaklens/4097184660/

Temperatures in this area are usually between 60 F to 95 F. Humidity is 80% - 100%, although a Phal can handle lower humidities of 60% to 70% just fine.

Unless your outdoors conditions mimics that of a swamp forest to some degree or another, I don't recommend growing them outdoors either.

Thumbs up

From looking at your pics your phals look very dry (medium). Looks like pic #668 is showing a spike. I keep mine in bright filtered light. Older leaves do turn yellowish and fall off that is natural.
