Examples viral induced flower color breaks?? Male
Default Examples viral induced flower color breaks??

Just got this orchid, where, as per my practice, it was quarantined from the rest of the collection. It was in sheath when it arrived and it bloomed today.
To my dismay, the flowers showed what would appear to be a rather classic example of color breaks. I have attached two photos of this Blc. Mahina Yahiro x Lc. Drumbeat for all of your comments. I have NOT tested it (yet), so that would be the next thing to do (and I typically do so on all plants before they are "allowed" entry - just have run out of Agdia test strips and am awaiting more.....)
I have attached (I hope ) two pictures - not the best photography I'll admit - to illustrate what I believe are examples of these color breaks.
Any comments??

It sure looks like a virus. What a shame! I hope you'll post the test results on this one when you get them.

Following up on this post, I did check the using the Adgia testing system and the plant was positive for ORSV.
I also did contact the grower from whom I purchased the plant, who was more than appropriate and apologetic and has offered to replace the plant.
Case solved!!
