virused cattleya species x 2

My C. maxima and C. percivaliana are both blooming for the first time. Purchased both on Ebay last year from the same grower (not any I had heard of) Both plants flowers have color break . the maxima worse than the percialiana - leaves look fine and plants look healthy otherwise. I am sure these are both virused plants. I have contacted the seller but no response - please beware of buying on Ebay from an unknown grower. These healthy looking plants weren't so healthy after all.

Well it could be helpful if you named the vendor rather than referring to ebay as a place where you get ripped off...
some vendors are OK and they start unknown.
virus should be tested.
Many striped tulips that sold for a lot back in the day were striped because of a virus.

Well sucks and sorry for that - I would wait and see if all the blooms appear like that.
is that vendor currently selling stuff on ebay?

That's a shame, Kathleen. Have they been sprayed with any insecticides or other systemics?

Maybe you should test them just to be on the safe side. I've used the Agdia test strips and they are easy and suppose to be accurate.

Am getting them tested - have shopped from vendors on E-bay for years and know several have regular websites also . I will shop on their websites in the future though instead of using e-bay. Vendor not currently selling - got these a year ago. I have used Bayer with imidiclopromide on them so maybe
