Obviously, I'm a newbie. Some of my orchids have holes in the flower spikes, some also with "honeydew" sticky stuff on the spike. I do not see anything on the leaves.
I have Neem oil spray-will that help?
The holes remind me somewhat of the holes of rose borers I had once on my tea roses.
The holes sound as though you have some sort of chewing insect. The sticky stuff seems to happen on very healthy plants at times. I usually try to remove it as, left there, mildew or scales sometimes appear.
