Default Big Lizard in my back... I mean orchid.

Was doing a thorough inspection of a den and out hopped this little guy. Is he a pest or friend? Should I tell my girlfriend we have a lizard living with us?

Well, your girlfriend may not like the idea of a lizard living with you but he'll keep the pest population down...and he's cute!

Well, that little guy is definitely not a pest and he will have little chance of surviving in your home if that is where he is. He is also not native to you part of the country. This looks like a the Brown Anole which is native to south Florida and not the more common Green Anole we have in the temperate parts of the country. Don't put him outside or he will just die in the winter. If you don't want to try and keep him take him to the pet store or a find a local keep to house him.

Thanks for the replies. I'm inclined to leave him among my plants. If he survives, good. If not, well, I guess he'll make some good fertilizer.

Sorry man but that's a sad attitude. He will die! No doubt at all so just go ahead and squash him and not starve him to death.

Just throw him a cricket once in awhile, make sure he has water and he'll be fine. He'll like the warmth and humidity that your orchids need. Did he come in with a plant?
