Default granular pesticide for indoor orchids?

Can anyone tell me if there's a decent granular pesticide that can be used on orchids grown indoors, please? I don't have any pets, and I would like to find something that will get rid of the insects (mainly pillbugs and millipedes) that have decided to accompany my plants now that they've been brought indoors for the winter. If anyone has a good success story (or, conversely, a horrible experience) with a particular type or brand of product, I would very much like to hear from you. Thank you.

Steve

I don't think using granular pesticide on potted plants is a good idea.

There are two types of granular and they each have specific instructions on use (usually opposite of each other).

There first category is that of a clay granule that holds a pesticide in it. Once applied, you have to water it in, to wash the pesticide out of the clay and into the soil.

The second category is the bait granule that you do not water and allow the insects to feed on and die.

Both of these are intended for outside use around your home. I have never seen them labeled for indoor use in potted plants.

You may want to try some of the more natural remedies...cinnamon, rubbing alcohol, or bay leaves.

If you need to use standard pesticides and are afraid of having a spill, you can place them in a tub, and wash the tub outside when you are done. Bleach is the most common agent for deactivating pesticides (to clean the tub out).

Thanks for your reply. I didn't realize that they're designed for use in the yard instead of in pots. I'll figure out some other way to evict the squatters.
