I would repot it into something nice and fresh that actually holds a good amount of water. The reason is because those few nice, green roots you have have adapted well to the wet environment and would not take so well to now going -back- to something quite dry. Personally, i would choose either straight (good quality!) sphagnum moss, or even straight perlite or straight LECA and do the S/H thing..
But that's just personal preference, if what you used before the AussieGold was working well, i'd go back to that.
If you do choose chunky bark or something similar, i would be sure to water it well. Just don't make the mistake of going back too far the other way and not watering it enough. Water doesn't kill Phal roots, dirty, decomposing media and poor root transpiration does.
But another thing, the large spaces in between the leaves indicates that it hasn't been getting enough light... it might just be that plant's genetics, but usually large spaces between the leaves (and long, dark leaves) means not enough light. If you're confident it gets good light then don't worry about it, but keep it in mind and maybe try higher light.
And finally, you mentioned it had a "sprout"? That means that the main plant is probably dead, or on the way to dying. The uppermost growing leaf has died and so it won't grow any more.
But the new "sprout" -will-, and it's that bit you should concentrate on. When you repot it, put that bit in the centre of the pot and make sure it's new roots grow down into the medium and are happy. Look after the sprout, but over time the main plant will die off.
