Is it virus infection? - Orchid Board

I have this plant kind of worries me. It looks health but the yellow streak on the leaf. Could it be infected by virus. What normally will happen to the plant if it's infected with virus, will it die slowly, stunt or will still grows.

It could be because the plant is gotten too much light

I am agree with smartie2000, I don't think that it 's virus. An infection by virus results in typical symptoms include yellow, brown, or black spots, or a mosaic pattern of yellow and green coloration on foliage.

What about flowers? It have a normal floration?
Here, (click, click) there are some photographs about virus infection (brazilian version).

I agree with your assessment. The discoloration is localized so the probability of any excessive light would be more pronounced over the entire leaf or plant.
The best thing to do is to isolate the plant. Grow it as the others and watch to see if the discoloration changes into the more pronounced symptoms of brown chlorotic patches and possible lesions.

Ya, I will isolate the plant and see how it goes. If it's virus most probably it will appear in a month or so, am I correct?.

Lila, it have not flower in my hands. it was planted in a pot with charcoal and broken bricks when I brought it, it was flowering then and was not growing well, leaf were dull and roots look dried and that's when I transplant with S/M which I normally prefer. Hopefully is not virus.
This is how it looks like. unknown name?

It has been over 18 months since you last posted. Eager to know what caused the discoloration. How is the Phal doing now? Pictures would be appreciated.

Hi Dollgoldii, took this photo yesterday evening. I don't thinks is a virus infection, if is it, most probably dead by now. I have a strong feeling is spider mites cause the discoloration when there get into the crown and start attacking from the insde. I have a few plants that were bably infected, after recovery do produces new leaves with this coloration and the following will look normal.

the plant have produce 3 spikes and 1 keiki during this period of time.

Thank you for the update. Nothing beats seeing a healthy plant grows. Furthermore, looks like it is time for you to 'clone' a new Phal Noid.

By the way, it seems that it is relatively humid in where you live because the roots are getting moisture from the air rather than from growing media.
