I fear that my hypochondria is coming out with fears that my orchid has all kinds of issues going on with it. I've had a black mark on one leaf for the whole winter, and I plan on cutting the bad spot out when I repot it this weekend. However, I just noticed that a new kind of marks have shown up in the past few days. I've never heard of anything like them, so I'm not sure if it is anything to worry about or not. Anyone ever seen anything like this before?

The marks you show just seem to be mechanical damage, and are nothing to worry about! Welcome to the anxious orchid owners club, I freak out whenever I see something out of the ordinary! I have a phal covered in those marks from when I travelled with it, didn't pack it correctly and it got bashed around a bit. Other phals have small marks from banging/scratching a leaf against something when I take it to the sink to water.

I agree with Camille, it looks like mechanical damage and nothing to worry about.

I haven't done anything recently that would cause any mechanical damage, but I hope you are all right!! I love my orchids, but I feel like I'm always finding something wrong with them

Rebecca...the damage in the third picture looks like it's pretty old...it may not have happened while you were in possesion of your orchid. How long have you had it? Other then the dark spot, which I wouldn't worry about unless it starts getting larger, it looks pretty happy and healthy to me! I also see where there is a slight tear at the base of a leaf, but that just happens! Can't wait to see pictures when the spike blooms! Welcome to the OB!

Ok, so the black spot is nothing to worry about unless it gets bigger? I noticed today a small black spot (on the same leaf as the large spot) that has gotten bigger. You can barely see it in this picture. It was only visible on the underside a few days ago (see pic), but today it is visible on the top side and has grown considerably... probably three times the size as the spot a few days ago. Should this cause me concern? A also noticed that this leaf are very bumpy, but the others aren't. The bumps are hard to see in a photograph. Any ideas?

What color are the bumps? Could they be scale?

The bumps are the same color as the leaf, so I don't think it's scale. I don't know much about that though as I've never dealt with it...
