Question ANTS, or something tiny on a Phal

A friend of mine just got a huge Phal from someone. She's big and beautiful, but "Ants", or something like it, are crawling everywhere! Inside and out of that pot.

What are they, possibly, and How can she get rid of them. I already took it home myself and sit in a bucket full of Physan mix, for 30 mins. Hoping to drown them. Didn't work.

What can be done about these pests?
AND, can they KILL this chid??

Plz help my friend.

Physan isn't going to do anything against the ants, since's it's not an insecticide. If there are so many ants, it's possible that's they're set up their home in the pot. What about repotting the phal and giving it a shower? You'd get rid of most of them that way, and a quick spray with some insecticide should get the remaining ones. Don't know what else to say, I've never had a big ant problem like that.

I had ants on some of my Paphs last week and sprayed them down with Safer. The little bastids dropped dead almost instantly.

thanks everyone! I'll tell her to find some "Safer", not know what that is?

And yes, maybe termites? Wasn't sure, that's why I said "something tiny".

And I'll tell her to repot, and a nice shower
I bathed her, in my bucket for 30 mins, no luck.
