A good spritz of regular Listerine works well on mold

A little basic electronics. I have soldered the wires into an a/c adapter I bought cheap at a local electronic store. Plugs right into a wall socket and powers the fan without burning it out.

Fungus is difficult to identify. This kind of fungus is usually identified under a microscope.

If this fungus reoccurs without harming your orchid, it's possible it is mycorrhizal fungus from the genus Rhizoctonia (again, I'm speculating).

Try to google labs that can identify a sample for you if you like.

To get rid of fungus, try soaking in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 5 min to 10 min.
