Spokane parks to detonate squirrels | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local & Regional
At least exploding them and collapsing their tunnels is "humane" - maybe I shall go out and set my oak trees on fire!

Yeesh! Glad I don't have ground squirrels!

They probably wouldn't be much of a problem under normal conditions, but I'm guessing most of the natural predators in that area have been wiped out or chased off. So now we have to handle things ourselves, and cause a big fuss.

Poor squirels... how would the city officials like it if someone blew up their house when they were asleep?

yup I like it. It is possibly more "humane" than what will be happening to the squirrels near my house this year if they touch my orchids or other plants.

I vote this as 'tool most likely to be involved in this year's Darwin Awards.'

Sad and futile. I have ground squirrels all over the place and never really saw them as a pest.

This brings back memories of the WD-40 and lighter method used when I was younger to rid the yard or wasps and bees nests. Its the official boy scout method.
