I think the ground squirrels they are talking about are also called whistle pigs. These are not like your normal "city" squirrels (a.k.a tree squirrels) which eat our orchids...lol. The whistle pigs breed like rabbits and make tunnels in the ground that cause a lot of damage. They reach infestation at a very quick rate. They will also eat their own kind...yummm!
