Hi everyone! I went outside and found some insects crawling around on a new growth on my C. Landate. I put the whole plant in a bucket of luke warm water and when the bugs floated to the top I killed them. I went again today and there's more! Can any one tell me what they are, I attached a picture. Thank you.
Not sure what it is but to me it looks like a ant. But if someone here cant ID it, You can go to this site. and they ID it for you. I've use them in the past and gave fast and and friendly responses. Ask What’s That Bug? | What's That Bug?
New member jumping in. I have a Landate that I set outside in the summer also, and this happens all the time. I think their after the sap. As long as they don't eat the plant it think it will be OK. On mine, a wasp is usually standing guard. Now all you need is a friendly Wasp!!!!
Thanks flhiker, I'll check out that site. Sorry about the pic but the insect is sooooo small. I set my camera to 5 megapixels and zoom to .1 meter and thats the best I could get. It looks like an ant but its butt is white and they move very fast, maybe it's just an ant but what are they doing? Must be eating something, right?
Your welcome. I don't know that they hurt the plant but it will break down you medium quicker. Also if your camera has a macro or close-up setting you'll get much better close ups shots. If you get a answer please let us know.
