Checked the roots and changed medium on 4 phals tonight. None of them looked bad. The one in the picture above had the worst root system.

Join me in praying for the little one!

The color looks much better in that last picture. Dosn't even look like the same plant. Where did you get the stand? Very nice, how much was it?

Chris, I bought it here. It was not cheap but very
quick to assemble. You can go to Home depot and get the light fixtures and devise a way to lower and raise with chains. It would be alot cheaper. I thought it looked good too and I
am lazy. HA HA.

If the leaves are drooping but not soft and limp, it's fine. Phals don't grow upright in nature, they grow sideways with the leaves drooping downwards. In nature, they grow that way to guide rainwater away from the crown of the plant.

Good Luck with the little one that had the worst root system. I wouldn't worry too much, though. Given some SuperThrive or KLN and you will have roots in no time!! I now swear by SuperThrive. Since using it my plants are growing and growing and growing. I've got new leaves and roots. I think you did the right thing by re-potting. It's better to be safe than have dead/dying roots.

Very nice plant stand!! Although it sure is empty and your chids look lonely. You need more orchids!
