Help!
I've searched the other threads and can't find this. I don't think these are spider mites. I've had those on other plants off and on over the years. This is something else. Not scale, not mealybugs. I think its some kind of mite. I need some advice on what home remedy would work. I've used alcohol for scale and a few really good showers took care of an aphid problem on a miltonidium.
I have no idea what to do with this and its already attacking two orchids. Any ideas?
Sounds like false spider mites they do not make a web if you wipe the rust stuff and it comes off in orange streaks then that is the little creeps . Safers insect soap or Neem will kill them spraying every 3 days and washing leaves before the next application but be sure to keep the plants out of direct light . There are other sprays but some can not be used in the house . If in a green house Keltane is the weapon of choice. I would spray any that are near it .. Hope this helps .. Gin
I have battled a small false spider mite problem at one point in the past too. I used a spray combination of rubbing alcohol, Ivory dish soap, and water. Every few days for a few weeks. It did the trick.
