Last summer I ordered my first Bulbo., a Cirrhopetalum Rothschildianum. It arrived planted in a tiny pot and appeared to be in good health. I mounted it on an nice piece of grape wood cushioned by a small piece of sphagnum moss and placed it between the brances of an orange tree. In late December I noticed that 2 new growths had appeared and I also noticed someone had been nibbling on a mature leaf.

A few days later one of the new growths had disappeared.

This morning there was even more damage. A bulb had been dug out from the sphag. and was detached from the plant and laying on top of the mount.

I'm pretty sure all of the damage was due to a squirrel. I've been growing other varieties of orchids in the same location and they're fine, so I'm thinking the "stinker" bulbos must taste good. Has anyone else noticed squirrels taking a particular interest in specific types of orchids?
