I was anticipating new bud growth from Cym. goeringii. However, one of the bud turns yellow from the base. I guess it's beyond savior since I pulled the leaves and it got pulled very easily.
What could possibly went wrong?
I treated the plant regularly with fertilizer, water it on regular basis (it's hot in here during the day, so I water morning and late afternoon). I still have three new buds growing and don't want the same to happen.
By the way, I plant the orchid in mixture of burnt rice husk and compost.
Sorry about the rot , it is probably from to much water the pot, in the picture looks large for the plant size Cymbids. like to be crowded with to much mix around it holds water to long, I would re pot it to smaller and check the roots out .. also if humidity is high it stays wetter then thought especially in the center of the pot I would be sure it is dry before watering .. tell me about the burned rice husk not heard of using it .. interesting .. Gin
Watering twice a day does sound like a bit much, even if it is hot. If the medium doesn't have time to dry out nearly completely between waterings, then you get problems like the ones you're having. I have never heard about burnt rice before, but maybe its possible that it doesn't dry out very quickly?
I also agree with Gin that you may need a smaller pot for it, depending on the mass of roots.

I'm gonna change the pot right away. As the rotten bud, I guess nothing can be made to safe that. It even have two healthy roots already.....
Burnt rice husk is commonly used in here for Nepenthes, Adenium planting media. I thought it could be good for terrestrial orchid since the media doesn't retain water as much as soil and moss.
