First of all, let me be the first to welcome you to the board.
I have had this as well. The fungus appears as small white BBs in the bark. I repotted to new medium. I soaked the whole plant (roots and all) in Physan 20 (Phyton27 would work as well) and then repotted in medium soaked in Physan 20. Mine went away. Good luck. (Be glad you have 'clear' pots to check up on this.)

Fungal Infestation
I have been troubled by this same fungal probelm (Botrytis?) for a long time. It first startd with my cattleya seedlings after I noticed them being too 'small' for four years old. I repotted them with fresh medium size barks a few months ago and today I found traces of fungal infection in one of them. I immediately checked my other seedlings / compots and also one phal that showed signs of sickness. They were all infested. The condition of the potting media is that the top half look OK and dry and fell out of the pot togehter with the plant; the lower half which was kind of wet and moldy and stucked together stayed inside the pot. Worse still, there were tiny creatures that were 'jumping' around. I wanted to attach some pictures but I am new to the site. Repotting was the only solution but instead of bark I switched over to semi hydroponic - simply to avoid future fungal infestation. My probelm is I have over 100 adult plants and I just do not have time to check and repot them soon enough. I wonder if there is any way to cure / prevent fungal infestation by direct application onto the potting media. I am sure Physan 20 or Phyton 27 are effective but my priority is something organic. I have read people experimenting with baking soda / vegetable oil / hydrogen peroxide etc. Furthermore, any advise as to further prevention!
