Remove this Phal leaf?
Default Remove this Phal leaf?

Hello all!

I have an intermediate growing backround, but am new to orchids. I was given a Phal as a housewarming gift and one of the main leaves was split and yellowing. I have repotted it to a fir bark medium and began a diluted fertilizing regiment. I have not noticed significant growth of possible infection and the final bud as bloomed. Roots look green/white and strong, I did trim off browning root tips when I replanted. I currenly live in central Florida and have this phal on an east facing balcony in a corner to avoid any direct sunlight. Temperature and humidity ranges should be good. I also have a fan out there giving better air circulation throughout the balcony.

My question is. Should I remove this leaf entirely and if so, how close to the crown should I do so?

Thanks in advance!

It looks like the leaf was damaged, but I don't think it's anything to worry about in the long term. Were this my plant I would leave it alone, and if the leaf completely yellows and falls off, well, then it does. If not I would let it contibute to the plant for as long as possible.
