Default how to rid mosquitos from rain water

Hi there all, I am catching rain water to water my orchids with. My problem, as with eveyone way down here in the deep south, is mosquitos (Louisiana State bird). I was lucky enough to catch about 20 gallons yesterday and today I have little wigglers in it already.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks
Mark

Another option I have heard of folks using, assuming your catching water in barrels and plant to do so on a regular basis, is addition of small fish (?guppies, I think it was?) to the water body.

Won't the fish excrement alter the water's chemistry?

D...you said "excrement"!

Seriously tho...those mosquito rings (or you can find them called mosquito "dunks") are going to be my lifesaver once those nasty skeeters make their mass appearance this summer in my neck of the woods. And I like the fact that it's a biological control.

I cover my barrels/bins with window screen and affix a bunge cord or two around it, seems to keep the little buggers out.
