Oncidium w/extreme spotting...

Thank you all for the great relies! I am a happy camper now that I know it's alright. I was just a bit spooked because I've never had spotting like that on a plant. I have a few oncidiums and intergenerics and have never had more than a few spots here or there.

Since I don't know the conditions it had been grown under, I can't say if light or misting was the contributing factor. But, it's only some of the leaves, not all of them. It did puzzle me since the plant otherwise seemed quite healthy. 5 robust pb and 3 leads of new growth! I'll just grow it as I do my others and it should thrive.

... Also, funny that someone mentioned their Sharry Baby has the same thing... this plant is Onc. Sharry Baby. Must just be one of those things. Thanks again for all the replies.

The plants are lighted with CF bulbs and some south window light (certainly not full sun) and still, every leaf has this same spotting. My "voice in the wilderness" is don't worry about it and enjoy the blooms.

I think perhaps Ross has nailed it. Not so long ago, there was an article published on just this problem and Sherry Baby. They searched for virus, fungi, etc. and all came up negative. I grow quite a few intergenerics and like Ross, some seem to have this condition and some don't.
