brown and rough patches on leaves

I’ve noticed an issue with my Phalaenopsis and I’m seeking advice. The underside of the leaves has developed brown, rough patches, and in some areas, these patches have created holes in the leaves.

I’m not sure if this is due to pests, a disease, or another environmental factor. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to address this problem?

I doubt that is a pest or pathogen, but more a side effect of improper care.

The lack of a decent root system suggests a significant deficiency in water uptake, as does the wrinkly, desiccated leaf.

I suggest working on rehabbing the plant and establishing a good root system first, then address other issues.
