Killing scale when there is a baby in the house
In date 12/23/2024 I found boisduval scale on my cattleyas inside my Milsbo cabinet.
I isolated the plants, killed the adults with alcohol, cleaned the leaves with a solution of water, soya oil and liquid dish detergent. They are now in a room where there are 18° C (65° F) and I still have to see another scale.
I bought a systemic insecticide. I want to use it, but I still have do it because I don't know how spray the plants without risking contact with the baby.
I can't do it outside because there are 15° C (60° F) during the day and -5° C (23 ° F) during the night.
I read somewhere people are putting the orchids in leaves bag and spraying them. Is it feasible?
Should I spay the phals and the other plants inside the Milsbo? The cattleyas were in the bottom shelf.
The milsbo is inside a room without windows and the baby can't enter this room.
