With heavy infestation there are lots of holes in the plant from insect bites, and a lot of water may enter the plant. I suggest you do this in two steps. First submerge for 2 hours, which will kill most of the scale. Wait a week to give another, longer soak.
Try it with 1-5 plants first to learn how to do it.

Hi everyone, I'm from the future XD
I submerged some of my plants every night, luckily I tried the toughest ones and the leaves rotted XD, somehow light brown spots started to grow along the center of the leaf and eventually fell off

Using a fungus called Beauvieria Bessiana worked for me. You have to be careful when using it because it stings, but it almost magically repelled all types of insects and spider mites. The scale population was reduced, and now it's easier to remove them manually.
I couldn't use insecticides because I have a population of frogs, and they sing beautifully at night

. Somehow, they're still there despite the application of the fungus.
