Default Rings on cattleya psuedobulbs

I have a Bc Rustic spots. It's over grown in it's pot and I was looking to repot today but lack a decent sized pot. While I had it out, I cleaned up the dry sheaths and such while I had it out. During the clean up, I noticed this brown rings around some on the psuedobulb. Is this something infectious? Should I be concerned? If it is infectious, what is it and how should it be treated? Thanks for your help!!!

This is one of the reasons I don't remove sheaths.

Seriously, I don't know what caused that. I would observe and see if it progresses. Is it on pseudobulbs that formed in multiple years?
