Default rhynchostylis Fungus purple freckles

Hello!
I am fairly new to growing vadaceous type orchids and recently decided to buy a rhynchostylis from a nursery.
It arrived and it has those purple freckles on the leaves everywhere, the root system although poor doesn’t have any black spots or so on.
Is this a fungus or maybe just a reaction to sun?
If it is a fungus should I just throw it away? Or what should I do?
Hopefully I managed to correctly attach the photos I took
Thank you in advance for any insights regarding this issue 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Welcome to the Orchid Board.

The software here doesn't permit detailed photos, so I can't see well enough. Your plant may have Phyllosticta fungus. If so the lesions will be shaped like small diamonds. Have a look at the Diseases page of the St. Augustine Orchid Society to see good photos of this.

Thank you!
Is it safe to have near my other plants after I treat it?
I usually water them together in the bathtub..
Would a sistemic fungicide work fine?

I am not certain the plant has Phyllosticta because I can't see the spots well enough. I would keep it away from other plants for now. Most of us water our plants individually so as not to spread diseases.

Do some reading on this fungus. Many people find they are unable to get rid of the fungus. It is only susceptible to some fungicides, not all.

Thanks again! I did some reading and unfortunately I am pretty sure it has the fungus 😞 It honestly looks so affected it’s not worth the hassle trying to save it

Sorry. Other Europeans have posted information about reputable vendors in the EU. From the left yellow menu choose Forums then Vendor Feedback.
