Pest ID and Treatment Recommendations?

Noticed when watering there were a few flying bugs and thinking that I had more that a couple of flying fungus gnats. Then I found this on my Burrageara (see attached image).

I believe I have some aphids. I have looked at photos and am not 100% sure these are aphids but don't believe they're not aphids, either.

Upon discovery a few days ago I sprayed with Sevin. Today I used an imidacloprid and Organishield mix and wiped the leaves as well as doused the media/roots.

Could anyone help me with ID'ing the pests as well as appropriate control? My spraying seemed to leave a colony of bug corpses, which I wiped off and dousing should flush a few more out. I believe control is relatively easy, but I want to make sure I know what I'm dealing with.

They very well might be aphids - a higher resolution photo would help. If so, they are one of the easiest pests to control, and your treatments should probably take care of it.

I'm sorry, Ray. I wiped the leaves. If more show up, though, I can try to get a better resolution image. I'm hoping I won't have the chance...that they'll be gone.

Should I apply multiple treatments? Using the imidacloprid gives the systemic treatment, but should I be concerned about getting multiple generations of these pests?

I am thinking with the recommended mealybugs treatment, it was a 3-4 week treatment regiment to try to get all life stages. Is that necessary with aphids since they're easier to kill?

And, I'm going to move forward with an aphid analysis for now, since the Sevin spray seemed to stop these in their tracks.

It’s best to go with 3 weekly treatments.

If they are aphids, the OrganiShield, alone, should do the trick.

Aphids are very easy to control with insecticidal soap or 70% alcohol spray. It may take several treatments. These are far less toxic to gardeners, family and pets than are insecticides.

This may also be the juvenile form of scale.
