Pest ID and Treatment Recommendations?

Noticed when watering there were a few flying bugs and thinking that I had more that a couple of flying fungus gnats. Then I found this on my Burrageara (see attached image).

I believe I have some aphids. I have looked at photos and am not 100% sure these are aphids but don't believe they're not aphids, either.

Upon discovery a few days ago I sprayed with Sevin. Today I used an imidacloprid and Organishield mix and wiped the leaves as well as doused the media/roots.

Could anyone help me with ID'ing the pests as well as appropriate control? My spraying seemed to leave a colony of bug corpses, which I wiped off and dousing should flush a few more out. I believe control is relatively easy, but I want to make sure I know what I'm dealing with.
