Those look like scratches or bumps. I wouldn't worry unless they start expanding, which I don't think will happen.
The sphagnum moss in the pot is old and is starting to break down. Most orchids sold in flower are ready for repotting. There is no rush so you have some time to do some reading before repotting this one.
Sphagnum moss is a good choice if your home is kept warm in winter. People also use orchid bark, alone or mixed with other things. The watering is different between the two types of media.
