Where did you get those? I have an infestation of the little (swear words deleted) roach monsters and I also have some toads, a couple of anoles and a Mediterranean gecko or two hanging around that I didn't want to injure. The roaches have overwhelmed me....I have been repotting madly - no pun intended!

Vanessa, I got the Harris Roach Tablets at Publix, a local grocery chain. If you don't have a Publix, try Ace or True Value Hardware. A second choice would be to buy boric acid at the pharmacy and mix a small amount with honey or syrup to make a paste. Place small amounts in an open container turned sideways so they will stay dry. Should take care of the roaches and ants for you. I had a bad problem once and got rid of them. I use to hate going in my greenhouse and seeing the fresh green root tips chewed away. It makes you want to declare war or at least it did me.

Oh yeah....I'm there..... It's everything I can do not to chemically burn the whole thing just to spite the evil b*&#tards...but, I love my plants. and I have worked hard to keep them thriving and flowering. I need a little "smiley" pumping it's fist in the air... I was thinking of mixing up some boric acid with sugar and parafin wax....water resistance and kills 'em. Anyway, there's my raving, lunatic fringe for the day....or for the moment, at least

I ended up mixing up some cake icing with boric acid and injecting it into drinking straw pieces (little tubes). The population has dropped. I don't see so many ants and I don't MISS the roaches. The scale population seems to have declined, as well. Just my on this latest experiment! I still need to find some of the those tablets.

I had a roach war when the greenhouse first went up .
I used the ant and roach powder from wal mart and the home defense spray the (odorless type ) around the outside of the gh and the edge of the floor in the green house .
Right now every time it rains a lot ants move in Revenge or Antrol a thick liquid dropped around where you see them seems to work it is also boric acid and sugar . Gin

My concern with using any sort of sprays is the livelihoods of the various amphibians which also call my gh home. They do keep the population of roaches down...but, the ants and their little herds of scale have been the bane of my gh, so I have had it in for them...so far, so good. There are times, though, when I think my favorite defense would be the extremist fire-bombing or flame thrower...I really hate roaches. BUT, I like my plants more....
