Brown, woody leaf disease on Epidendrum stamfordianum
I've noticed this brown discoloration on the base of the leaves of my epidendrum stamfordianum. The leaves do not fully form, are shriveled on the edges, and have this thick woody brown discoloration or deformity (not really sure what to call it). It does not scrape off. The pseudobulb is not brown, black, or squishy. Except for the weird areas the leaf looks ok. It's a bit wrinkled but otherwise green. There are new growths on the plant that are not damaged. The leaves on the old growths are not yellowing or falling off. The roots growing over the side of the pot are normal in appearance. I don't see scale, or mealybugs, or mites (I've had those in the past). Thoughts?
Of note I see something similar on a cattleya hybrid growing nearby. I've put that photo in as well.
