What could this basal growth be? Doesn't look like root or flower spike.

Yes thats cinnamon on the roots fell by mistake on the roots when I was trying to put some on the crown to stop the rot.

Many Phals normally make multiple growths from the base. Most people use the word "keiki" to refer to a plantlet that originates in a different area than normal growth - like a flower stalk, or from nodes on the stems in the case of Dendrobiums.
