What is causing the black spots on the leaf of neofinetia
Just purchased this blooming size neo hybrid (vandachostylis lou sneary). Plant looks healthy overall, but it has a lot of black spots. Haven't check the root rot yet, is this caused by sun burn, poor shipping handling or some disease ? Thanks
I wouldn't be happy receiving a plant with those spots. I would let the seller know. I would guess it was grown in very high humidity, and those are fungus, or those were damaged areas from insects or scratching that became necrotic. It does not look like Guignardia, a fungus causing diamond-shaped lesions on Vanda relatives.
Watch it closely to see whether the spots enlarge. Don't keep this plant in an extremely humid area; try not to exceed 60% to minimize fungal activity.
Let us know what develops over the next few days.
