Bugs Identified (I think) - Weevil
Small, beetle-like bugs, medium speed crawling, no flying (that I've noticed). Based on their roundish, beetle-like body and long frontal antennae, I think that they belong to the weevil family. I don’t think that they’ve done much damage, the chewed-up edge of the leaf is about a year old. Three days ago was the first time I noticed actual bugs – I thought the leaf damage may have been from a snail that died.
About the pics. #1 is leaf damage; #2 are small holes that look like tiny pieces of soil/dirt, however, they are holes made by adults to deposit larvae; #3, general pic of the bugs; #4 as good as I could get of a close up.
About eliminating the bugs… I was surprised at Home Depot to find a variety of pre-mixed spray insecticide, including neem oil, “organic” insecticides, and pre-diluted spray-on Sevin.
Any thoughts regarding if these bugs are weevils or something else would be appreciated.
