Green ring spots on yellow leaves

I recently purchased a Dendrobium anosmum from Carmela Orchids in Hawaii. I have had it for a week.

I noticed the strangest ring spots on it about two days after I received it. Some of the leaves are yellow; a few of those yellow leaves have a circular brown dot surrounded by a ring of green leaf tissue that seems to be raised. I've seen green leaves with yellow spots, but never this way.

I saw a post about something that seemed to be the same issue, but the problem was never identified. I have contacted the grower and my local arboretum plant clinic, but thought I'd see what experienced growers might know.

A photo would help, but it sounds like what sucking insects such as aphids and scale can do. Have you looked at the undersides of the leaves? Often that is where the nasties hide and you just see the evidence on the top of the leaf.

It's really difficult without photos. After you make 5 posts you can put photos into your messages. Some people can do it sooner.

Any leaf damage can allow fungus or bacteria into the leaf. The infection grows out in a ring. Bugs biting a leaf may produce a similar brown target/dying ring lesion.

Traveling in a dark box predisposes to fungus or bacterial disease. Usually when such a plant is then kept in an area with good air circulation and proper temperatures and light the progression stops.

What are your growing conditions? Temperatures day/night, humidity, light? How and how often are you watering?
