Phal roots turning brown, need to change medium?
I watered my Phal a few days ago, and have begun to see the roots turning brown.
The tips of the aerial roots are turning dark brown, and are slowly upwards along the roots, with the silver parts receding despite no extra humidification. (This has never happened before despite my plant sitting on the windowsill for a year in a tropical area, so I don't think it's due to light exposure.)
The roots in the medium are also starting to have light brown spots.
There are also no bugs that I can see.
Both types of roots are still plump and healthy, and my orchid is currently flowering. Should I still repot my orchid with some dry medium? I'm worried about it causing too much shock for the plant, especially while it's flowering. But if I leave it as it is and wait for the moss to slowly dry out, I'm worried that the roots would become further damaged.
