Tiny little black bugs in S/H Phalaenopsis

Hi all
Any idea what these might be? I found them this week when I flushed an S/H pot with a Phal in it. I can't see any damage but who knows, they are so tiny they could be causing harm in the roots out of sight.

When I say tiny, I mean tiny. They are just black specks until I magnified with my camera phone. Some fell on a piece of kitchen paper and a few moments later started running! That was the first I realised that it was something alive and not just debris. They may have been there longer than a week and I just haven't noticed them. I estimate there were about 50 that I flushed out this time round. The plant is grown indoors.

No idea... but if they're fast crawlers, I'd be getting rid of them pronto. Just for the yuck factor of an indoor plant.

I wonder about them as well, often. But no, don't think these are them.
Surprisingly it is one creature we rarely see out here in the sticks. When we lived in a town it was a different story! My take on it is the fact we have no mains drainage or sewage system out here.
