Hi, HI’m Bodil88 and a newbie. I have grown orchids for five
years ever since my best friend gave me the Phal Batlin’s
Kaleidoscope. I had never seen any thing quite that lovely.
Sadly my friend died just as it quit blooming and my orchid-growing life started then and there trying to learn to
keep my Kaleidoscope alive,,,having fallen deeply in love.
I grow my orchids in front of a huge window facing due east
in Portland, Oregon.
Now about HP: Until very recently all the information I could find was on YouTube where the learned experts always used
HP when re-potting a plant from the growers commercial
pot/media to their own, mainly to make certain no possible evil critters would make it into their collections…so I followed suit. However the very first thing I
learned on my very first day as a member here was when Roberta very gently told me that HP is real bad for orchid roots. So now I would like to know what you guys use so I can start being kind to my roots.PS: I was so startled when Roberts told me that I plum forgot to ask her this question.
