Well our trip out today was canceled, so it's great to hear that the soap/water alcohol works better!! I will add "shower" to my list of what I do with my plants every other week.
Surprisingly our house isn't horribly dry, especially since we have hot air for heat and AC. But this summer has been brutal with heat so the AC has been on more than normal. I have noticed the plants drying out quicker than normal as a result of that. I might try putting the badly infected orchid in another second saucer, it's small enough I can put another below the saucer and fill it with some gravel and then water to try to keep the humidity up a bit more. Even with the AC on every day all day (and a dehumidifier running 24/7 in the basement) the humidity in the house has been in the 60's this summer! Crazy humid!!
