I have this Laelia purpurata that just finished its blooming cycle, and now one of the older pbulbs is turning brownish. The brown part itself is still firm like the rest of the orchid.
If the coloring spreads, I plan to cut off the bulb and treat the wound, but can someone tell me what it is, and if it’s something serious that I’ll need to treat it with something stronger than home remedies.
Sunburn should hit the leaves first before it hits the stem. If the brown part is soft, wash your hands, then cut it out before it spreads to the stem, in my opinion. That kind of looks like Erwinia.

Depends on the angle of the sun. Also, older Cattleya alliance plants frequently turn firm and brown as they gradually die.
