What about the soap mix or neem oil for prevention? I don't use obviously hahaha but is that a choice ?

I am moving outside the entire collection, I know I am going to regret that, but I want to move out too :crossfing

Yeah I've put it outside now, next to my water feature that splashes water out. Hopefully the leaves don't go bad from the water.

I sprayed it with an insecticide that I know works so hopefully that will keep it safe and it appreciates the outdoors!

Like I said, pros and cons and what you're willing to deal with. If you don't mind a couple of munched leaves and it's in SH, I would personally let it ride through the summer, check it often, and give it a good spray before you bring it in. It can't be any hotter in UK than it's doing right now in Kansas, so from that standpoint it's fine. :biggrin:

Absolutely not! Today it hit 28c where I am but it's going to be raining a lot apparently for the next week apparently, so now I'm wondering if it'll be ok. Do you think this amount of water on the leaves for long periods of time is ok? Obviously it has brilliant airflow so I'm assuming so, I think it looks best with the water feature to be honest

Nice water feature. I had those same two I was talking about in a bubbling rock feature this year...got tired of how often I had to water them, so stuck them into edge of pond (both in SH). Thinking about doing the same with my Catasetum. :biggrin:

Have you bloomed this Cymb before? Does it require a cool down to bloom? If so, how else will you get it there other than leaving outside?

I'm not so much worried about the water in the root area, it's the water on the leaves. This is a NoID cymb, and I got it recently so I've never rebloomed it before. I'll bring it back inside likely early September when it begins to cool down. It's much hotter outside than inside so it will feel the temp changes. It's last spike (which it had when I bought it), finished probably 2 months ago now. If it needs a cold snap it'll get it in the winter.
