Good afternoon!

Just received plant from Kawamoto Orchids. Noticed some funny spots on leaves and am scared they may be viral. Some black spots here and there, as well as some brown discoloration. I'm awaiting my next order of Agdia tests at the moment. Plant otherwise is extremely healthy looking, with a new lead on either side of plant. I recently had a catt come up positive that I bought from a local nursery for CymMV and it raised my paranoia to new heights lol. Any ideas what this could be (before I throw it in fireplace and bleach growing area out of fear... again)?

Thank you kindly,

Jeff

I think that looks a bit like sunburn, nothing serious. As with any new plant, just keep an eye on it. If you want to see if a spot is spreading, draw a line with a Sharpie a bit outside the spot. Any change will then be easy. That definitely doesn't look like the sorts of markings that virus would make. So no fireplace!!!

Hi there T.O. Were those spots there before or after the orchid was received?
