Black Spots on Dendrobium, Tiny Yellow Spots on Paph
Default Black Spots on Dendrobium, Tiny Yellow Spots on Paph

Hi

There are some black spots on the leaves of my dendrobium. It appeared after I placed the dendrobium on direct sunlight at the garden, and the leaves, I assumed, got burned, then these black spots appeared. After 2-3 weeks, the other leaves that had this recovered and are now in normal condition, however this one is still there. Is this some type of fungal/bacteria infection, but my plant had the resistance to make the other leaves recover?

Secondly, I have a Paphiopedilum that has tiny yellow spots with a black dot at the middle. There are also tiny yellow spots on 2 other leaves. After 1 week of observation, the spots don't seem to grow. Is this something I should be concerned about? The yellow spot is similar to the 3rd/bottom picture that I got from Google, but is an enlarged version. I assume the yellow spot would grow at that size if left unchecked. Is this a type of Pseudomona?

Default

The damage to the dendrobium is typical of sunburn. There is nothing you can do, and there is nothing you need to do.

The damage to the paph leaves looks to be a bit of minor mechanical damage, possibly due to insects, but might be due to a pathogen if water was left standing on the leaves. If it does not expand/progress, that's probably one of the two. If it does, a picture of the true extent of the damage can help.
