Black dots on Dendrobium unable to identify the issue
Default Black dots on Dendrobium unable to identify the issue

Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate your help, please. I received a Dendrobium Hamana Lake ‘Prism’ from a renowned nursery beginning of this week (via a parcel). It’s true that I didn’t pay attention immediately while unpacking it, and today when finally examining it more in details I was horrified to see lots of black little spots all over the orchid including rare ones on the young stems. The bottom of some leaves also seems a little bit irregular. Other than that the plant looks quite healthy. I had some other orchids around during these 3 days so I hope nothing gets transmitted to those. Thank you very much for your advice as I am worried.

First, Welcome!
I don't see anything worrisome. There might have been some bit of fungal issue from slashing water. But unless the spots get larger or show signs of significant spreading, or develop into soft spots, I think you're fine. The plant looks great. Observation over the next days and weeks will tell you if there is a problem. Orchids teach patience.

The black coloured spots - hard to say what they're due to. They might be ok. I agree with Roberta's views on that.

Just also take a close look at the regions under the leaves ----- circled in red. If the leaves underneath are indeed yellowy and patchy ------ then may need to look out for some sort of insect or mite attack.

Aside from just general watering and fertilising care ------ the other side of maintaining orchid health is watching out for fungus/bacterial and mite/scale/mealybug attacks.
