Question Hard orange patches on my Bulbophyllum Frostii's pseudobulbs

Hello everyone,

I just received a Bulbophyllum frostii and I noticed it has orange patches on two of the pseudobulbs. They are hard and not mushy at all. Does anyone know what they are?
Thanks

It looks like scarring over areas that were damaged in the past.

I'd tip on scarring too.

Look at the chunk missing out of one of my maxillaria picta - that damage is a year old, I always joke that a mouse had a nibble on it but no idea what really caused it.
