Default Eggs on roots of Howeara Lava Burst Puanani?

Hello friends,

As I was misting my orchids today, I noticed small egg looking lumps on my Howeara. I took some pictures, but it was hard to capture. I gave them a spritz of HP for now, but am concerned. Can anyone confirm if these are eggs and if so, of what? They are milky white, and not uniform in size. Could also maybe be a fungus?

(Also pls excuse the shabby sheaths, they came this was from the vendor. I plan to clean it up.)

I don't know what that is. If the roots are dead they could be saporophytic fungi, which don't harm living tissue. I wouldn't treat with anything. It is making new growth so there should be new roots soon.

I don't see anything of concern. But, never spray Hydrogen Peroxide on the roots, regardless of what youtube tells you. It kills the root hairs.

Thanks ES. The roots are very much alive. Which is my concern? I can't seem to find anything that looks similar to this. Quite puzzling, I appreciate your input.

Thanks Dolly. I have heard really mixed things on HP, so I do use it very sparingly. I just did not want to break out the big guns if it is nothing terribly scary. I appreciate your reply!

I couldn't figure out what HP is. I thought it means Hewlett Packard.

New definitive treatment now in stores. Crush those damn orchids with the power of 10.000 hard drives and get rid of pests forever.
